History

The Katikati Returned Services Club’s building was opened on 22 July 1961.

The club’s memorial shrine includes a wooden tablet listing the names of men from the local district who made the supreme sacrifice in the two world wars.

The names are identical with those on the Katikati War Memorial Hall, although more formal ranks are given.

When the Katikati RSA and Citizens clubrooms were extended in 1992 a mural was added to the exterior of the building. Unveiled in 1996, the mural by artist Geoffrey Fuller includes 24 wartime scenes from campaigns in which Katikati servicemen and women have been involved.
